Sharply focused wall of stone

Pushing, plunging directly to depth of chilled

Water:

Ever gradual diminishment of light

To twilight, to black;

This is a moment at a fjord in Norway,

The beginning of night.

Black solid against a pale black sky:

Ever gradual appreciation of light

To dawn light, to white;

This is a moment at a fjord in Norway,

The beginning of day.

Opposite manifestations of the single duality

Containing Humanity’s dance about Time.

Most of the sensual grasp is in the

Stillness of stone standing upon a

Shimmering fluid and merely

Punctuated by small movements of tiny hands.

In the stillness of the reflection,

Subsequent to the turbulence of the contact,

The betterment of character,

The ruin of soul

Unfold in a simple pattern,

History in an objective presentation,

Confusion more momentous than conflict.

Then when the bar maid smiled at my

Comment

It felt as though rotation of the sphere

Must cease until

That smile removes all doubt, and

Allows me to commune once again with

Thoughts from the initial empowerment,

Before rotation was even a factor.

A perpetual speculation, to realize a return to

The Garden, or any garden.

After activities of the day

Layers remain, from experience,

Sustained in common air, ordinary air,

Suffocating the ability to peer out and

Recognize inner projection of

Self center, purely extant.

Rather, immersion,

Dislocation of presence, false appearance among

Strangers in the midst,

Trying to formulate

Anticipated attitude and

Conforming conduct

Prepared for

Mundane activities of a next day.

In a true sense of the Word,

History is undone,

Fanned out in a thin exposition.

Desire denied, recast as a

Soft dream where the Word

Presides over hollowed ground of elemental

Beating of pulse accompanied by a

Measured breath.

In the dawn is all true experience.

Purity of physiological instance.

In the dawn is all true appreciation.

Illusory thought undone, now composed as

A smile, because the warmth of the sun

Is simply

Nature touching your heart.

Although out in unencumbered space

Certain souls see only patterns of obstruction.

Here and Now

Sognefjord stands massive in

Moods of gray: deep mists and a

Threat of overcast upon a severe cut

Containing immense watery substance.

Is it not interesting

How

A consciousness arouses existence

Simply through an act of perception

In the cool air of approaching dawn,

While strolling the boat deck on

An exploration of autumnal promise.

The greater awareness dissolves obstruction,

Intensifies, in the dim light, in the brilliant silence,

What the Ice insisted upon during the

Formative acts in time long past,

But still

Here and Now.

What the Ice insisted upon in

A whisper:

Contemplate every last nuance of perceptive experience

 as if it

Were the first and only instance

Forever

Here and Now:

Sognefjord stands in fulfillment of stillness:

Massive, Motionless

Calm.
